I am a Sophomore at MBC and I really enjoy my time here. I have read some of the reviews and am shocked because most of the accusations are not true! Assigned bathroom stalls mean that the hall had trashed the bathroom and had no respect enough to keep it clean for themselves. and limited visitation is a reflection of poor GPA or poor attitude towards others. Mary Baldwin is a great school and no we are not a party school but anyone who is here for academics loves that aspect. Also unlike many other schools we are not a dry campus, meaning only that 21 year old students can drink on campus! The academics are amazing and the work and course load are hard, however if you don't go to class you will fail! I am so tired of people coming to me to tell me a sob story about how they are on academic probation but they had an A in the class and missed five class meetings with no excuse! Also it infuriates me to hear that people don't like Mary Baldwin because there are no men! IT'S a WOMAN'S college get over it! Please be aware that those of you who do not like to make friends or who like to stay in your room night and day you will not make friends, that's a fact of life and I can't believe anyone has the scruples to blame Mary Baldwin for social problems! If you have an issue with a fellow student that's yours and that other person's fault! Just in case you read all the negative reviews please be aware those people were probably in some sort of trouble because the things they explain are results of misconduct!
