Here's the thing:Any negative review that you read about USI on this site is completely ridiculous. First, the person that commented that USI would rather have all commuters and eliminate campus residents is completely arrogant. I have worked for the office of admissions, and let me be the first to tell you that the former is not the case. Secondly, I read in another evaluation that the campus is overcrowded, which is certainly not the case. Currently, USI has a little over 10,000 students, and buildings such as the David L. Rice library have the capability to support 18,000. You do the math.I also have a problem with Evansville residents putting down this school. I have lived in Evansville my entire life, but I love USI. One gets back what they put into this school. There are plenty of people that believe USI has nothing to offer socially on the weekend, but that is mostly because they do not live on or near campus and thus miss most of what is offered. For the student that is interested in succeeding primarily academically but also extracurricularly, this school is great. Finally, for the very ignorant student that put down USI's pre-medicine program, I have to say shame on you. This school is known to have an excellent core of pre-medicine advisers. Yes, most of them are in the biology department, but this is merely where their office is located. They are perfectly happy to see people of various majors and love to counsel them as well. It sounds to me as if the student that wrote about how bad the program is did not take it upon himself or herself to get the advice he or she needed. In all, USI is a great school. I did not want to come here and was very hesitant about making the decision to do so. However, since I became involved on campus and gave it a shot, I have gotten more from USI than any student from a college with a division one football team could tell you.
