I decided to attend Grossmont College because of the obvious financial savings I would be making (20 bucks a unit!!!), to ease my transition into the world of college academics, and its close proximity to where I live. I came here with the intent to transfer to San Diego State after completing my general education requirements via the transfer admission guarantee, though its safe to say it really isn't a guarantee anymore at all. Knowing how competitive it is to get into State now, if I could go back in time I'd probably have made the attempt to go right in because things have gotten incredibly impacted. But that's besides the point. My overall impression of this school has been incredibly positive. The teachers have mostly been excellent, helpful, and caring. Most of the students here are actually students, with intentions of transferring, which in turn attracts good teacher. The majority of my teachers have taught at State, or at other reputable institutions of higher learning. I have only had one teacher not proficient in english, and another two or so professors who I believed weren't any good, out of three years of attendance. The campus is very nice, and Mission Trails park is a stones throw away. During winter, you can sometimes see snow capped peaks off in the distance, breathtaking! The only issues I've really had were parking (they are currently building a parking structure to alleviate that), and classes filling up to quickly. Many students here must crash to get what they need to take. Other then that, I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to save a few bucks!
