Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I started as an engineering major and would definitely recommend URI to any engineering or pharmacy majors. However, the chemistry department is unsatisfactory…that is, if you can understand them. Now I am a political science and history major and can't say too much bad about those departments either. I do have limited experience in my one year here. If you are looking for something to do on the weekends and don't have a car/ do not want to be the DD/LDD, you're screwed. If you are not in a frat, and don't have boobs, you won't be allowed in their parties. Other than frats, there is NOTHING to do on campus. Everyone and everything is gone on the weekends other than the freshmen. At URI the town where everyone gets apartments, Narragansett, is a 10 minute drive away. This is great news if you plan on getting a house "down the line" but if not, it means all the parties are out of reach without a car. I like the academics. The campus life is lame, if you join a frat or know someone that wants to drive to the parties then you can have a good time. If not, you will likely be stuck in a dorm room with your friends drinking Keystone Light and playing Mario Kart.
