Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Going to SIUC has been the best experience of my life. It's very hard for a lot of students to get through freshman year down here, so I understand why there might be a lot of disgruntled negative reviewers out there, but the college experience at SIUC is well worth the money and time.I am an english major and felt incredibly satisfied and sufficiently challenged (but not too challenged in my classes). I was also able to take advantage of undergraduate assistantship positions which allowed me to do work with what I was studying and I got paid for it.The student body here is incredibly friendly and all faculty I've dealt with have been helpful, accessible, and nice. I wasn't the best student in high school and I pretty much came to SIUC because it was the only school that would accept me. Now I feel like I couldn't have picked a better school. SIUC has motivated me so much that I'm now a straight A student and I'm definitely headed for graduate school in the fall (my wonderful professors guided me through the admission process and I've already received acceptances from two schools!).SIUC is a wonderful place to attend school if you're looking to get involved and learn a lot.
