It was a pretty good 1920hrs of education. 12 blocks of instruction. Instructors very experienced but possibly not totally up to date. Taught the meat and potatoes of A&P. Intead of learning recips on IO engines we learned on w-670 radial engines. The jet experience was pretty limited. I did go there with 4yrs of Air Force flightline experience so I knew what I was getting into. I wish carbon fiber had been taught at that time. Their employment office (?) found me a job at Pioneer Airlines as an aircraft cleaner while I was going to school. I left there after being hired by Rockwell. I was already hired by Rockwell as a Program Technician on the B-1 project at Edwards upon my graduation. But… Lay off from Rockwell after three years. Hired by Continental at LAX for when I got layed off at Rockwell. Then when I got layed off from Rockwell, Conti had hiring freeze. Came back home to CO. Hired by Branson Aircraft (Denver) Again, lay off after about 3 years. Currently work at DIA for SkyWest Airlines (United's Express Carrier) in Operations. If you want to work as an A&P be prepared to move to where the jobs are. Most of the people I know at United with 25-30yrs of seniority are considered short-timers. You do the math on that… Most of the techs I know get around 21/hour.
