Yes, BU is expensive, and I would not recommend this place to students who aren't on scholarship or of rich parents. I'm here on reduced tuition because a parent teaches here; otherwise, I would not waste my $$$ on an average school that charges more than it's worth. Really fucking stupid student body in some classes—smart enough that you would expect less apathy from them, but not smart enough that you feel challenged in your classes. Apathetic, unprofessional advisers that really leave you on your own. I've been fucked over twice by the advising here. The schism between the international and American students is palpable. Most of the international students are here because they didn't get into the Ivy leagues. All in all, this is a school that's vast, urban, and for the very independent. If you're smart, expect to suffer (greatly), because of how fucking stupid your peers will be.
