Louisiana State University - Shreveport

I came to LSUS because it was cheap and I got a bunch of financial aid, well about $4K per semester. The faculty in my department was nice but they weren't challenging at all! I had to take a desktop publishing class where you're supposed to learn about design for small companies and the professor didn't even know the software she was using! She had to ask another professor teach her how to use it, while we sat there pondering how in the world we could pass the class. She basically gave everyone who showed up an A since she wasn't sure how to do anything.

The student life on campus sucks. They have cheap concert performers that no one's ever heard of, almost no people show up that their events. They have about 10 people per event and they are all members of the Student Activities Board. Anytime you have an idea it immediately gets shot down. I mean, they just got wireless internet two years ago and that was like pulling seven wisdom teeth out. Now that I'm about to graduate, I've found that I can't get in anywhere else. I basically know nothing about my major, all my classes were filled with busy work and professors leaving early because they wanted to have lunch or a nap. They were nice folks but they didn't know anything about what they taught so guess what? I don't either. I hope I can get a job at something besides Wal-Mart!!

I'm upset that I didn't transfer but hopefully I can give the rest of the students some advice. Don't go here, go to BPCC if you're that bad off. Go to Tech or Northwestern. Anything would be better than this school which is stuck in 1980 and has no desire to move foward.
