Major: Criminal (This Major's Salary over time)
I thought it was a wonderful university. I spent four years at HSU, then went on to two large state universities for grad school. At HSU you are part of the family and the professors actually care about you. It is completely the opposite at state universities where professors are most worried about research and tenure. The vast majority of professors at HSU have the heart of a teacher. If you want to learn practical knowledge and develop life-long relationships, go to HSU.Regarding the night life, it was my experience that most of the people that did not like Abilene or HSU were from large cities. It is true that Abilene isn't the most exciting town, but it does have everything you need. If you are seeking God and a great education, HSU and Abilene will work great for you. If you are going to college to party and live a worldly life, you probably will not like Abilene or HSU.In the end, college is probably what you make of it. Regardless of where you go, your happiness will probably be determined by who and what you get involved with. HSU provided me with several avenues of involvement and I wouldn't have traded it for the world.
