Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
ISU is a non-traditional University. If you are looking for the "College Experience" you should consider other options. I think that my department (Mass Communications/ Journalism) is doing its best to overcome the current state of the economy, but there are some things that are tight. The previous University President made some unwise choices in the finances department that has left the University's "rainy day fund" considerably less than all of the other public universities in the state. One major pro for Idaho… its cheap to live here. I know some graduates from my department that have come back to visit. They are doing well in their field & feel that they were trained to be competitive in the job market. We recently completed a new TV studio that is state of the art. I believe it was touted as the studio this side of the Rocky Mountains. I think this is in terms of Universities… but I don't know for sure. We combined finances with grants & the local public broadcasting station to build one kick ass studio. I think that if ISU was in a different town (Pocatello doesn't have much to offer, especially in careers after school) it would earn better ratings. There hasn't been much that has really angered me, but at this point I'm just ready to move on.
