I should have known when I initially had issues with the admissions department when I applied and they hosed my application package. From that point on, the interaction with SMCM has been less than professional. Everything seems to be done slipshod. I don't know whether it has to do with the laid back atmosphere of being on the water, but there is no follow-through with the administration. They talk a great game, but don't follow through and that affects everything from housing issues to food preparation to academic preparedness and extends even to grounds maintenance. Do you realize that we got a day off for snow when we only had three inches on the ground? It might be the public honors college in Maryland, but I would have been better off at UMBC.
