When I graduated from high school I tried to tell myself that this would be a good step forward in life: go to college, make some friends, have some fun, get a degree and move on in life. I think I can agree with the first part, but as for the rest I don't.

This school is a joke. I never thought of myself as a "gifted" learner until I came here. The general education courses are easier than what I had in high school. And as for meeting new people, forget about it: everyone has their own social cliques from outside or is tied-in with the Greek system, and if you're not affiliated on at least one of those areas no one could care less about you.

As for accessibility, this place is a commuter school, unless you want a cheap apartment nearby where you can hear gunshots in the night or unless you live on-campus and want to put up with the typical frat games and nuisances. If you're disabled you can forget about coming here, because there is no place to park unless you can afford $10+ a day just to take a chance on finding a place in a garage. Otherwise you had better learn to brave the elements and hope for the public transit system in Louisville to run on-time.

Also, this place is way too concerned about their athletics program. Education buildings and dorm buildings (except the dorms for the star athletes) are uncomfortable since they tend to lack air conditioning and/or rely on a boiler room to make them a stifling 85 degrees during the winter, and until that boiler room gets shut off it gets even hotter when it's not winter. The athletics facilities are an exception, if you ever go to them.

I know I've wasted a year of my life at this place. I also will not come back here ever again. When considering a school, look for a place that values your education and you as a mainline student. U of L only cares about money and an image.
