LAHC is a commuter college.  You get your credits and then you go whereever you go.  Much of the campus was falling apart when I initally started going.  There was a problem with people peeing on the floor in the Seahawk Center's women's restrooms.  Unfortunately, those were some of the nicer restrooms and they always rank of urine.  I made it a point to look my professors up on RateMyProfessor.com before I registered.  Even so, some of the professors can be really arrogant or just terrible lecturers.  There are many good professors, but if you're doing any science or math courses there will be extra study time.  Sometimes there can be violence because it is an inner city school, but I never saw any during my time.

The cops are helpful and will escort you, they're usually patrolling campus anyway.  The tutoring resources are free and easy to find.  For 22-30 dollars a unit, it's pretty good.
