Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I originally chose UNH for it's amazing criminal justice program that the University of known for. My new major is closely related to CJ and I still take classes that are taught and intertwine with CJ. My major, Legal Studies, is an up and coming major at the University. It's still taught by brilliant people (most of my Instructors are Ivy league graduates and have real life experience in their fields). However, it is somewhat hard to get the classes when you want and need them due to the newness of the program and the limited number of instructors.

People complain that a lot of people go home on the weekend. However, I would say that most of the people that go home on the weekends are freshman. More Soph, Jr, Sr stay on campus as much as possible because they are a lot busier with their course work and his or her own social life on campus. So my recommendation freshman: Don't be anti-social.. otherwise you'll be one of those people everyone complains about because you go home every weekend. Sure it's nice to go home every now and then but seriously, grow up. You aren't a child anymore.

I find that the SCOPE program here at the University is great! They offer many programs throughout the week and some weekends. This weekend Scope is handing out free tickets and transportation to Six Flags. How can you deny that? FREE!

As for the "party scene" goes, it is what you make of it. There are A LOT of upper class man house parties around campus on the weekends. You just have to be social (like I said earlier) and get to know these people. It isn't hard.

There are plenty of facilities on campus to get stuff done. The beckerman center is not just a gym. Plenty of other things to do inside of there. Rec sports is sweet, too!

Basically, if you want to go to a school with a giant population, this school isn't for you. The undergraduate student body is like 3,400 students (as of right now). The school will probably grow another 1,000 students next year, which is awesome! Just stay open minded, live socially (with protections ;) ) and join clubs/frats/athletic teams/inter-murals.. etc! It's that's easy.

College is what you make of it. If you do not like to meet new people, if you do not like to get involved, then the University of New Haven is not for you.

For those two reasons I love UNH. I find the activities and social life way more than what I could have asked for. :) -Just don't plan on going to breakfast with your friends since it seems like everyone likes to sleep in. lol
