Major: Criminal (This Major's Salary over time)
I transferred from Nassau Community College to go to SUNY Old Westbury.I wasn't academically inclined but I made the best of the opportunity given. Considering, when I left Nassau my GPA was 2.0. SUNY Old Westbury let me in and I promised I would do well. Three years later, I graduated with a 3.5 GPA. The school is a good school for the 'money".My girlfriend went to Hofstra University and they cut class everyday. Don't believe the hype about Ivy League schools. Most kids are "smart" enough before they went to an Ivy League school that is why can afford to slack off. I wasn't bless with that academic blessing lol. Unless, you go to Harvard or Princenton, undergrad degrees are not worth 100,000 dollars. For the record, the professors have PHDS at SUNY. I think it is about 90 percent of them. I liked the professors because they make you think. I took Criminology so I was happy with the education I received. The problem is, most of the students coming in, were "not' stellar students to begin with like me! How the hell can you judge the school and you wasn't a genius!I know guys who went to Ohio State and bragged about majoring in "Boating". Education is what you make of it. Now that I am 30 years old. I take classes just to improve my skills. I was a slacker in school.SUNY Old Westbury has to teach students how to write. I cannot stress this enough. I am not the best writer but I was WORSE back then. Nobody goes to the writing center lol.By the way, at graduation, my sociology/criminology group was big. The psychology graduates damned near "outnumbered us". Just one or two students were at graduation with a math degree and "harder subject degrees". Everybody took the easy way out. The Asian and Russian students took all the harder majors. They keep that school competitive. Everybody else doing social activism for not apparent reason. Nobody cares about a SUNY Old Westbury protest. Hey Calvin Butts, that is a good manEverybody needs to stop complaining. I want to see who you blame when you can't finish graduate school.
