Salisbury University is for some people and I'm not one of them. Salisbury isn't the best town, it's unsafe according to many students and even the own faculty. There have been muggings, robberies, beatings, and even shootings and rapes in the area around campus to students. I went on a bike ride at 8:30 at night one time to see what it was like and luckily nothing happened but I definitly had an uneasy feel the whole time until I got back to my room.

People on campus are definilty "laid back" and if you come here the students and faculty will definitly try to sell you on that. However I feel I am a laid back person and I mean I don't let stress get to me and I usually remain calm. The students at Salisbury are more of an apathetic and have an I dont care type of attitude which can come of as laid back, I suppose. There is also a lot of smokers on campus and with the campus being so small it's hard to go too far without seeing cigarettes on the ground or seeing one or more people smoking.

The biggest problem in my opinion at Salisbury from a people aspect is the partiers and partying that goes on. I definitly hear the reputation the school had as far as being a "party school" before I got here but I figured any school has parties so it's not big deal. However the first weekend I was here there were MULTIPLE parties going on. Parties here are not hard to find at all and honestly if you don't find one or hear of one it's because you're not looking. And I've described it as "in your face" because the campus is so small and there are parying is the primary interest of the good majority of the students here it is hard to avoid if you don't care for parties like I don't.

The campus is really small. I thought I'd want a small school but I like seeing new things and places and even on a college campus I'd like to see new things and at Salisbury I knew every building and been in every building after the first week and I could ride my bike from 1 corner to the opposite corner of campus in under 5 minutes.

So I wouldn't recommend coming to Salisbury at ALL unless you are really into the party scene and thats what you want to do. There are lots of parties going on Thursday-Sunday but I go home during the weekends so I get a chance to escape it but I still here the stories every Monday and Tuesday morning.

Overall the school just isn't for me and there are many reasons I WILL be transferring next year. I'd like a school closer to me and Salisbury is 2 hours-2 hours 30 minutes. I want to study Criminal Justice or Criminolgy or Administration of Justice and SU doesnt offer any of those 3 majors. I'm not a partier AT ALL and all the partying here makes me sick to be honest, I'd like a bigger school personally, and this group of people is not for me.

So I hope to be able to attend George Mason next fall. That's what my hope is. And I do know I will not be at Salisbury next August.
