Ferrum offers many options for incoming students. I applied to 6 colleges and was rejected from 2 and accepted at 4. After visiting all four colleges I found that Ferrum's faculty was without a doubt the most caring and devoted. Ferrum's facutly wants every student to succeed and consistently gives students their home numbers so that they can be contacted after hours. What I found when I arrived was that the academics were much more difficult than I expected and many students that were given a chance to attend ended up not coming back. This is a good thing! Ferrum's high acceptance rate (around 77%) means that many students are given a second chance. Students that take advantage of this often set themselves up for many opportunities in the future. Many of my college buddies are in graduate school - as I am in Law School. Ferrum's surroundings is basically a rural area. Students that want clubs and city life probably should look elsewhere. Yet there are many things that students should take advantage of - like whitewater rafting, rock climbing etc. There are many things that other schools in other settings just can't come close to replicating.
