I
started taking classes at Chico State as a high school
student and was frustrated to find that the school was
just a continuation of the idiocy of high school, with
the only difference being that students can smoke ON campus
instead of going a block away from the high school
to do so. The academics were interesting, but not challenging
at all. If anything, they were EASIER than my
high school classes. I think the school is just
going downhill even more because of the budget crisis here
in California.
As far as things to do: there is
not much innocent fun to be had here in Chico.
Even if you go in to college being a
sober person, by the time you leave Chico State (if
you graduate at all), you'll be a partier and will
have killed countless brain cells with alcohol/marijuana.
Some positive things
about Chico State are its beauty and its library.
Chico Creek runs through campus and the campus is full
of trees and flowers. The library is large and
extensive with inspiring views of campus and ample computer labs.
My experience at Chico State makes me think that state
schools are not the way to go. For a
real education, go to a private school.
