As with anywhere else - this school is what you make of it.  There does seem to be a large number of “stupid” people at IC, but let's be honest, its not Harvard.  There are a fair number of really intelligent people on campus also - again, it is what you make of it.  If you want intelligent, intellectual people, get involved in the active student government or any number of professional student groups on campus.  If you want to get drunk out of your mind with Pi Pi Rho, don't complain you're surrounded by stupid people.

I will be graduating IC in three years with two majors and I have been accepted at a number of elite grad schools.  The instructors at IC have prepared me well - there are very few teachers who are poor and there are so many that are amazing.  This school has changed the way I think.  Again, I came here wanting to learn and I had a tremendous experience.  People who showed up hungover (or not at all) and expected to learn by osmosis probably don't feel IC benefited them.  My question to them - what did you expect?
