IIT education is worth every penny of it. If you are not a brilliant student (not saying you aren't smart) don't overload yourself with excessive credits hours; just take as many as you can handle safely. Along with your academics get involved with other extracurricular activities that IIT has to offer (like Student Government, Union board, etc.). Also, take the full advantage of institutions like Leadership Academy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy, IPRO system etc. which provide you skills that will help you succeed in the real world (these things sometimes count more than your books). The IPRO is an interdisciplinary project course that is unique to IIT which simulates workplace environment and gives you a chance to work on real world projects. The Greek system at IIT is also pretty well organized; unlike many other state schools these aren't people who just party through college but most of them are pretty involved on campus, are good at academics and do plenty of community service.Being an international student i pay full tuition at IIT but IIT education is worth every penny of it if you take advantage of all the facilities that the school has to provide to you.
