Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
I am a senior about to graduate with a major in English Literature and minors in Spanish, Philosophy and Art History. Overall my experience at Duquesne has been a good one. Personal attention is a high priority and it is almost impossible to fade into the background or be treated as a "number." My experience with the English Department in particular has been wonderful. All of the professors are incredibly knowledgeable with diverse specializations and interests. They have been very helpful to me both in the classroom and in deciding my future in academics. Other programs in the liberal arts school are not necessarily the largest or best in their field, but faculty is enthusiastic, intelligent and friendly across the board. The campus is small but charming, and it is a short bus ride away from two large universities where there are plenty of students and the requisite college parties. Fair warning to those interested in liberal arts fields, however: Duquesne focuses most of its monetary resources on the Pharmacy School and other Health Science programs, so while you can certainly obtain a quality liberal arts education, this might not be your first choice.
