The academics at UTD suck. They just do. I've been to 2 other universities in the country, and both were greatly superior to UT Dallas. At UTD, most classes are gigantic (and this year we've been blessed with overcrowding), and assignments are basic multiple-choice tests. Students will not gain skills in writing or presenting papers unless they do so outside of classes. The advisers are horrible; they've fired 2 of my advisers so far, usually the advisers are unavailable, and I've been told that no one can advise me on getting into graduate school. Seriously, guys? There are never enough ac outlets for computers or tables in the cafeteria. The food prices have been raised and are outrageous—$8 for lunch and $9.50 for dinner? I'll drive somewhere else, thanks. Speaking of which, UTD is a commuter school, so the social life is lacking. These are not just my experiences, but also those of my friends. Whatever you do, do NOT attend UT Dallas!
