I recently visited the school with an interest in Music Therapy. The environment was fine for me, a nice surrounding area, etc. I live in NWI so everything looked and felt basically the same. I thought the campus was nice, and the student apartment I saw was fabulous. The music building was amazing and I loved it! Every faculty member I spoke to was very friendly and insightful. The people to showed me around campus were also quite friendly, and my friend and I noticed and appreciated it. However, we both also noticed how distant and seemingly unfriendly the rest of the surrounding student body was. We didn't see anybody smiling, seriously. Nobody looked happy. The people sitting in the buildings waiting for classes, etc., were totally to themselves. EVERY single person I saw had their phone on their ear, they were texting, using their ipods/headphones, completely un-social seeming. It's hard for me to make new friends, but I don't want to go around keeping to myself like that, acting like everyone is horrible. It was discouraging to see that, and that was really the main reason I changed my mind about going to IPFW.
