The school is very nurturing, which is great for those that are just getting accustomed to living on their own, but it's a bit stifling for people that don't want their hand held for everything. The college Writing Center is emphasized as a place to go for help on papers, but it's really just there if you aren't used to writing at a high level of competency.

The curriculum is really not as hard as I thought it would be, which is disappointing seeing as I'm in all 200 and 300 level courses. Professors favor certain students, but it's not hard to get an A even if you aren't one of the favored ones.

The social scene on campus is alright if you like lectures. Off campus, everything is accessible by Marta, but that can be expensive. I wish Agnes had more entertaining on-campus events. There are very few parties on campus (like 2 a semester)which is also disappointing. There is noticeable tension among ethnic groups, and most groups just keep to themselves.

Most people are friendly, though some can be intimidating because of their devotion to their "cause." Everyone has a cause to advocate, and some are a little more fervent than others.

The campus is beautiful, but the dorms are not well maintained. There have been several rooms evacuated from mold (which is disgusting) and you have to personally make a fuss with residence life if you want the showers cleaned, and even then it's not always effective.

The all-women environment is not all bad. Like much of everything at Agnes, you either love it or you hate it. I find that it's very comforting to be in classes with all women, because you're not afraid of being judged harshly by male peers. Unfortunately, it also means that finding an actual date or relationship other than random hookups at Tech or Morehouse can be difficult. It helps to have friends from in-state (if your from out-of-state, like me), since they will have the connections to find parties to attend. Having an active social life here really means having friends that know people at Tech, Emory, and Morehouse that can find parties.

Overall, some people really get into life at Agnes and have a great time here and make the most of things. A lot of women end up transferring. I'm transferring for next semester, because I don't feel like I am being challenged enough here and want a typical college experience instead of having to search for things to do to fill my schedule.
