Belmont Abbey is a wonderful college, but it has many draw backs. The Monks, faculty & staff are very helpful and friendly. The campus is beautiful, and the grounds are taken care of. The one draw back is the expense of attending a private college. It is very expensive, and the for the price of tuition, there should be more events featured and available. BAC has a good theater department, and added a Motor Sports management degree for those interested in working for NASCAR.I understand BAC wants you to have a well rounded education, but some of the core classes added makes you aggravated. You have to take several classes in Philosophy, class in Logic, and Great Books. If you are a philosophical person, you would not mind taking these classes. This is required for any degree you may be seeking. It is a small, friendly campus. The professors are very helpful, and the two semesters I took were very beneficial to me. I transferred to ASU because of a larger and more diverse selections of classes. Not counting the cost of tuition. If you are an adult student, you are looking at close to $1100.00 per class. I have no regrets the two semesters I attended. Sometimes I wish I had graduated from BAC, but I knew I had to move on to finish my degree that provided classes that I could not get at BAC. The college is Catholic (which I am too) and proud of our Catholic heritage.
