Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I came to Mary Baldwin at the age of 13 as a PEG student…and I've never regretted a decision more in my life. Don't get me wrong, Mary Baldwin is a great school for those who want to study psych, art, or any other humanities/social science subject. But if you're a natural science major, stay AWAY.

The biology department itself has three of the most amazing teachers I've ever met. They are helpful, thoroughly qualified, and great teachers. However, if you want to be pre-med (like me), you'll be highly disappointed with the quality of the chemistry/physics classes offered here. As of right now, there is one physics teacher and three chemistry teachers. The physics teacher is actually a chemist who teaches both physics and chemistry. Therefore, the only physics classes offered are "Topics in Astronomy" and General Physics.

Even if we had a brilliant physical sciences program, I still would want to be anywhere but here. There is an unbelievable aversion to thinking; everyone just wants to find the easiest way of doing something and not think about more efficient and innovative solutions. It's like the people here just want to get through "college" so they can go off and marry their heir husband. And without boys, the girls are just badly behaved, unhygienic, and start petty drama for no reason.

Being here makes me wish that I had suffered through 4 years of high school and gone off to a better school.
