Honestly the school is fantastic for providing plenty of resources for students in everything from use of computers to counseling for minor and major issues. The student faculty bothers me because most of the foreign students are friendly with their own but completely unapproachable if you are of a different ethnicity. There is also a terribly small number of hispanics and african american students. I hate to say this but the school is comprised of mostly asian and eastern indian students and they tend to keep to their own. I just wish I saw larger numbers of other minorities on campus. Also, as a new student the school did a HORRIBLE job in making sure I had my books, helping me navigate the campus and pointing me in the right direction for help, such as tutoring. I had been awarded financial aid under a work study program but no one told me that it meant I had to have a job on campus so by the time Fall started I didn't have money for books, just like Summer, and I felt totally misguided. On the other hand, the grounds are pretty and well-kempt and the activities are on-going. The teaching faculty are a lot more challenging than I had anticipated, as far as flexibility, and attendance is a major part of your grade. Overall, I like EDCC but I will probably look into continuing my education after I receive my certificate and will keep in touch as an alumni. I am getting a VERY valuable education here.
