The University of Michigan - Dearborn

I am an incoming freshman from Howe Military School. At military school I lived in barracks with the same group of people for four years. Therefore, I had lifelong friends that I missed a lot right after graduation.

I chose UMD because you get the Michigan diploma that all employers love and most won't know the difference between Ann Arbor and Dearborn.

U of M has its perks and its downfalls. The parking here completely sucks. Sometimes you get lucky and get a spot… but most of the time you're screwed, unless you have a very early morning class or an evening class.

Many people complain about the lack of social life… When I first came here, I couldn't agree more. I hated it so much. I wanted to transfer out after a few days of attending school. I literally thought I would go crazy because I'm a very social person with no life.

So I rushed the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity… and my college life changed that second.

The brothers are very nice, the connections are extremely valuable, I made so many friends in so little time and my closest pledge brothers I never thought I'd ever meet, are my closest friends in this world. Also… you meet many many girls :)

University of Michigan Dearborn is what you make of it. Serioulsy.

I used to go to class, eat in the UC, and go home. Everyday. and it SUCKED. SUCKED. SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!

If you attend this school, get active. Join clubs, anything… your social life will be great and its just like attending a regular school. Take my word of advice seriously!!
