Going to le moyne was the biggest mistake I chose. This school is a complete joke.

Social Life:

It is the definition of a "suit case" school. 80% of the kids who go here live within 5 minutes to 30 minutes away and they often go home on the weekend to be with their mommy's and daddy's. The social life here BLOWS. The only thing to do on the weekend is either drink or go to the mall. The parties suck here too; they have all the same people who don't bother socializing with you, and they just wanna get to the keg and leave. There is no variety of students here, they are literally all self-absorbed close minded brats who live in their central new york bubble. The students here are the most apathetic kids I have ever met, they can't even bother to turn on the news or look into world news to find out what actually is going on in the world. Le moyne does absolutely nothing then throw silly dances for the students or have bad musicians play. Oh btw, all the students get wasted before these events and le moyne has a huge alcohol problem since there is jackshit to do! I'm sorry but there is more to life then prematurely shrinking your brain with alcohol.

Academics:

My high school was more academically challenging and stimulating then this school. I LEARNED MORE in HIGH SCHOOL then at le moyne. The education here is very watered down and easy. There are very few good professors here too. The majority of professors can't teach if their life depended on it. I often wonder what inspired these people to become professors in the first place because all they do is stand in front of the classroom and recite powerpoint slides. The biology labs here are beyond awful. I seriously could not take them seriously because they are the equivalent to NYS regents biology labs. They were all such a joke and you learned absolutely nothing from them because they were so poorly executed. BTW all the general biology lab instructors are incapable of teaching. General chemistry lab is alot tougher then general biology lab however you can get an A more easily in it despite the tougher material. I do not understand how a general biology is so simple and vague yet the instructors grade you so harshly on them.

"Core curriculum":

The "core curriculum" is a bunch of horse shit. You seriously get live without philosophy, religion (BTW you are required to take 3 semesters of), history, english, math or a language. I am sorry but when you are a science major it is important to take multiple science electives opposed to multiple philosophy and religion courses. Don't believe the whole "Oh but they open your mind and make you a well-rounded person". After college, what is going to do you more good, more courses in your major of choice or religion 101 and philosophy 101. You are better off reading books on your own time about those subjects.

Food:

The food SUCKS HERE. AWFUL. Oh yea there is only one main place to eat on campus which is the cafeteria. The cafeteria sucks majorly and the meal plans are expensive. Le moyne also has "the dolphin den" which is right down the hall from the cafeteria. It doesnt serve much besides sandwiches and burgers which is basically identical food from the cafeteria. It closes on saturdays for some reason…hmm probably because le moyne knows its students go home on the weekend to see mommy and daddy for a nice steak dinner! The only other place to grab something to eat is in the academic building on the bottom floor right next to an auditorium. It has the same food from the den and you can use your "munch" money there. "Munch" money is just random money put on your id card where you can buy food items only with. The only way you can put more money on it is if you add more meals to your meal plan…which I don't see the point in. The meal plan is way overpriced for the quality of food.

Building Asthetics:

The only nice looking building on campus is the performing arts center. The performing arts center is very tiny too and I don't understand how they could house a theater program there which such a tiny building! The rest of the buildings are ugly and kept in poor condition. There is so much mold in the buildings I am afraid for the health of my lungs. The athletic center isn't anything special too. Its on the other side of campus which makes it very inconvinent for students who live in harrison or st. mary's. BTW the academic building is on one giant hill so it makes it obnoxious to walk to if you live in st. mary's or harrison. As for the academic building it is nice on the first level where you walk in but it gets shittier if you walk left or right. The building is set up in very confusing way and it seems they just added more buildings to it so it all connects. The "coyne science center" is extremely outdated and disgusting. The only thing modern in the classrooms are either a)your laptop b)your cell phone or c)the projector. This is quite sad for an institution where the average tuition is about 40K per year. I often wonder where they put all their money because it doesn't seem to flow very well. The library is extremely outdated as well. The very few modern things in the arena of the library are the 23inch mac computers. There are very few outlets for you to plug in your laptop which makes it annoying if you wanna sit at a desk with your laptop except there are only 2 outlets per study area. BTW the library has very few people on the weekends, like RARELY any people except for the people who "work" at the library. From monday night to wednesday night the library gets quite noisy because students are busy "studying" when really they are sitting there socializing with their friends.

Overall:

I would not come here or ever think to come here. The student body is very sophmoric and pretentious. The administration doesn't care about you either. They are very rude especially the registars office and the finanical aid office. The employees couldn't be any less helpful or snooty. Le moyne is the corniest school ever and I feel embarrassed to say I go here. This school is such a joke and a waste of time. The only good thing about this school is if you live 5 minutes away and you wanna be extremely close to home because you aren't independent enough to branch off or leave central new york.
