Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I went to this school because I received a pretty huge scholarship because of my high grades and standardized tests scores. I thought it would be great to leave here with zero debt—I'd rather be in debt after what I saw at this place. First off, I'm not really used to failure or being surrounded by it and that what most of my fellow classmates were: failures. Most of the people here seemed to only be here because they were locals and never wanted to leave this area. My classmates had absolutely nothing to contribute to class or discussions. Most them are also failing out into science classes (I'm a bio major). A lot of them were Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Biology or Chemistry—and the majority shouldn't even be there. They are terrible students! The campus is soooooo depressing by the way—its always dreary and rains—its a real downer. There isn't much to do here either—maybe a few bars and some restaurants. They are constantly tearing up stuff around here and remodeling—its a total mess constantly. As for my department, I won't name names, but my Biology professors were not very good at all. They also weren't very helpful. The science classes here weren't very challenging and people were constantly dropping out, because they were too busy flunking. Most of the students who were flunking the classes were always talking and acting dumb in class and I found this to be very distracting (coming from me—a serious student and overachiever) and I just wanted to yell and tell them all to shut the heck up! I am leaving Slippery Rock University needless to say and transfering out to a private (exclusive) university. Thank god that the classes weren't that challenging and I am leaving this sh#thole with a 4.0 GPA. I am glad that I am headed to a place where the students and faculty care and are overachievers and on the same intellectual level as me. Even though the tuition is very cheap at this school, don't be fooled—go somewhere better. Only go here if your grades suck and can't get accepted to any other college out there. TAKE IT FROM ME: AVOID SLIPPERY ROCK UNIVERSITY AT ALL COSTS!!!
