UOP is a small school. Which has its goods and bads. UOP is the kind of school where your professors can get to know you and there are many resources available to help you. All you have to do is shout and somebody will probably hear you. There is a pretty wide variety of activities and campus groups to get yourself involved in however they may not have the manpower or funding of clubs at bigger universities but its just enough funding to do what you want and make it your own and there will always be a group of people that are willing to support. Also at a small university they have to offer programs and support services like a big university does, so this provides lots of opportunities to try out things you might like or dive into other departments or realms you may never have considered. Since the campus is relatively small and close knit.

The problem with a small school is that people clique up. Business, SIS, Pharmacy, Conservatory, doesnt matter chances are good that the people you meet are of a similar major or similar interests. Also in my opinion the science courses here are hard because they have to weed out the pharm and dentistry kids. Its funny these kids are considered smart but cant tell you anything about the purpose or reason behind the subjects they are studying and they complain about class all the time. They seem to think they're better than everybody else cause they think they are so smart. Newsflash!! memorizing the textbook and spitting it out during an exam is not intelligence. Also being in a major you hate is not a sign of being smart. It just shows you lack the initiative to stand up and do something or study something that you truly love. Also it seems that people from outside Universities that apply and get into UOP Pharm School seem to know their stuff alot better than the Pre-Pharm Kids do. (Just my observations)

The last point I'd like to bring up is the city of Stockton. Its a working class town, I'm sorry that you grew up in a privileged town where there's no crime and the worst thing the local police have to do is shut down the local high school party. Yes, Stockton has higher than average property crimes but many of these times the victims didnt lock their door (odd considering we supposedly live in such a dangerous place). If you're not looking for trouble you probably wont find it. But honestly stuff happens all the time even in big cities like NYC, SF, LA, Houston, wherever. Those places have crime yet students at UOP think Stockton is the most dangerous place in the world for no apparent reason. I've been living here for 4 years and I got plenty of friends that lived here their whole lives yes they will agree the property crimes are higher than average but just be smart about things.
