If it wasn't for Hurricane Katrina I would have my degree fro USM. I loved this school, I was treated with respect and always felt like my education was jus as important to my instructors as it was to me. My major was History, and the chair of the History department was my advisor. He is an intelligent man that shoots stright from the hip and gives you honesty and real life advice.I never had any issues with financial aid or the business office. The student body was always made aware of changes. USM made considerable accomodations after Hurricane Katrina, however my home had been damaged and I had to move out of State. I wish I could have stayed and continued. I even attende online for awhile, but they are a ver Traditional University so, after I finished what I coud I had to find a new school. However USM was still a great school. I would advise a student to attend this University if they want a good education for a good price. This is one of Mississippi's top Universities and one of the nation's top research Universities. Great people both students and faculty, great education for the price of tuition.
