Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
As an out-of-state student who had never lived on the east coast or in the south, I wasn't sure about UNCG. So far, however, the university has met my expectations. It's a small university (I was considering Arizona State which has 60,000 students so yes UNCG seems small)set in a small town, so if you're from an urban area you might not like it. I found most of my classes challenging, especially my smaller English courses which were excellant. It all depends on what you take, if you take easy classes than how do you expect to get anything out of it? All of my professors were extremely helpful and were always available if I had any questions. As for the social life, it is almost nonexistant, I admit. Also a lot of students here also went to high school together, so the cliques have transferred over. This makes it a bit harder to find friends, but they are out there, you just have to look. I've made a great group of friends and though greensboro is quiet, you can still have fun.Overall I've enjoyed UNCG, and plan on staying for all four years. It's not for everyone, but if you want a solid school that focuses more on academics, then UNCG is for you.
