I
love C.W. Post Campus. But, I'm a quiet
person. I don't like parties, I don't like drinking until
I puke or pass out, or going out every single
night looking for nightclubs to dance in.
If the
aforementioned are for you and you're looking to party then
you might want another school. If you're interested in studying,
making good contacts with professors and friends, and enjoying the
proximity to NYC then by all means you won't be
disappointed with what CW Post has to offer. Student clubs/groups
and athletic events are easy to learn about and join.
The facilities are beautifully maintained, especially the Pratt Recreation Center.
I've never had any problems with the faculty. They
are helpful and make themselves avaliable to you if you
need extra help. If you put in the effort you
will receieve the grade you deserve. If you slack off,
don't read your textbooks, don't study and don't try, then
don't complain about the poor academic quality of Post.
The campus dining halls have food better than many college
campuses with a wide variety of dishes to choose from.
The only thing I don't like about the food is
that the dining locations close around 8 PM so if
you want midnight snacks you need to get delivery or
go off campus (which isn't so bad considering the 24-hour
Pathmark about two miles away).
It's hard if you don't
have a car here though. Some classes are quite a
hike away and if you need to buy certain materials,
such as art supplies, it's difficult to carpool. The shuttle
is useful but not always on time and not as
frequent as I would have liked when I needed to
use it.
I was given a partial scholarship to come
here, but the horse stables on campus sealed the deal
for me. The equestrian team allowed me to participate in
intercollegiate riding right on campus which is an opportunity no
other college on Long Island can match.
