MacMurray has both positives and negatives. The number one positive thing that I love is that you're an actual person at Mac, and not just a number. The staff members remember majority of the students that they come in contact with and have no problem making you feel welcomed or assisting you with whatever problem you are experiencing. Students at Mac are also friendly and because it's a smaller campus you definitely get to know more people than if you were at a larger school. Some of the negatives about MacMurray include the high cost of tutition, the limited amount of classes for each major, and the disgusting dorm rooms that are priced too high(usually you can find an apartment in the area for the same price you would pay for the dorms, if not cheaper). The location of the school is also a negative. Everything in town(besides Walmart, gas stations, and the local restuarant, BJS,) closes earlier. Oh yeah, and if you're coming to MacMurray expecting a social life like your friends who go to a larger school-don't count on it. There are a few parties here and there but Jacksonville Police usually break them up pretty early or a lot of fights tend to break out. And don't expect to get the bars if you're under 21 because they definitely check ids. For those 21 and up, the bars close at 1am usually and aren't anything too exciting. Only positive is that you can drink for a lot cheaper than bigger cities & usually Good Time Docs will have different specials(like 1/2 price drinks or Ladies Night).
