Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
I figured since the last review was in 2008 by a 1995 graduate I would provide a more recent and applicable review.

Rider is a good school that gets a bad rap, seen as a suitcase school, yet people forget that a majority of students live nearby in NJ.

As I am a Communication major with a Radio/Tv track, I find that I will be well prepared when I graduate. Getting involved is important, as Rider gives you the opportunity to get the experience you need before you enter the work force.

The social life is not bad as long as you are involved on campus, either with Greek life, one of the numerous clubs, intramural sports, or on-campus job. This is the secret of course to meeting people, and once you've done that you wont be disappointed.

In regard to the course work, I can really only tell you from my perspective from the communication department, as many of core and electives were in this area. You may think it is an easy major, however classes such as Com Law, Radio/TV, and especially the Production classes will have you thinking, studying and working very diligently.

Yes some people wont like this school, but that's usually because they're not giving it much of a chance and are looking at it very narrowly. If you attend this school you will get a good education, and the social life will vastly improve if you do decide to get out of your dorm and get involved.
