I transferred here from UCLA and absolutely loved my experience. I found that I was able to have more research opportunities, more professor interaction, and more opportunities to get involved on campus at this small liberal arts school than at UCLA. There were also more campus-sponsored things to do at Grinnell than at UCLA. We had bands come through at least once a week, which is something that my friends from California are now jealous of since they're realizing that they know a lot of the bands that played at my school. Also, Grinnell is an incredible place to be during election times. Every single democratic candidate except Hilary Clinton came to campus. With all that being said, Grinnell isn't for everyone. You really have to go and visit to get an idea of the vibe. It's the type of place where everyone's a little quirky. I personally really enjoyed that aspect of the school, but other people might not be into it.
