IIT has a great academic program and well respected reputation in the midwest area. Initially, I did not find IIT to be a good or well rounded school, but I found that it is determined by the student's initiative to apply himself or herself into the program. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and pursue interests that can springboard a student into a successful career.

What I found mostly discouraging is the student sentiment about IIT. There a lot of students who did not have IIT as a first choice college, rather an alternative to a another school. The institution offers a large sum or scholarship, and it is a large determining factor for many students to attend. ROTC has a large presence on campus, and so is the Greek Life.
