Davidson College

On the purely aesthetic level, the campus is very beautiful and manicured, and I would definitely recommend coming for a tour. The campus is small, but not too cramped, and borders a picture-perfect college town that provides opportunities to get off campus. You can, however get bored at times with the lack of new sights. The food is very good too, and I even prefer the cafeteria food to the on campus cafe.

The people here are friendly, great, and smart that will have the same hardworking and trustworthy qualities like you at a selective school like Davidson. You can have an intellectual conversation with someone on the football team. The size of the student body inspires a great sense of community. At the same time, it makes the scene a little cliquey and lowers social mobility, but the friends you do make (and there will be many) will be great.

The parties here are great, drinking is popular but not a necessity, and there are always tons of people out on the weekends. There is always a bumping dance going on at Patterson Court on the weekends too.

The Lake Campus is a hidden jewel, I don't think any other college has anything like it. It is absolutely gorgeous.

The classes are top notch. Professors are here to teach, and I don't know any that are obsessed with their research (they may even be hard to find) Classes are FULL of discussion and everyone pitches in. There is a lot of work here. Davidson students are hard workers. Period.

It's a blast! I'm glad I wound up here, and it's a great place to be. You should definitely apply, even if its not your first choice (It is for a lot of people) Then, at least, you will have the chance.
