I attended JU as a freshman in 2009 and played football. This school is an absolute joke. I decided to attend JU more or less to play football and get an average education. After an entire year, here is what I have to say. The sports are actually decent and I believe Kerwin Bell will bring the football program to a dominant level in the future. Acedemics.. well not alot to say about it here. I had two good teachers throughout a year and the rest just supply you with pointless busywork, they are very unorganized and I learned more in high school than that one year at JU. I lived in Oak Hall which I can't complain about except the hidden fees and scamming that all of the other comments speak of are true. The school will try to clean you of your money and leave you with a horrible degree. Also, since it's a private school, they do not give AA degrees and most the credits will not transfer and if they do, they transfer as electives causing you to retake the same classes again at another college. I transfered to Iowa State and I play football here now and I can easily say that Jacksonville University has destroyed at least 2 years of my life by only attending it for 1. It wrecked my GPA that I am still recovering from today. Furthermore, I think Hellen Keller planned the school out physically. the school can't afford ANYTHING! Everything is beat down or old. The highlights of the school: DCOBB, beach volleyball, baseball field, downtown areana, andd thats about it. Res Life people are arrogant and my friend from home/ roomates truck got stolen.
