Eastern is a good fit for me. It is definitely not a good fit for everyone though.

Though I am only a Freshman, I'll still tell you what I think of it so far…

Some people who are smart enough to go to U of M, go here instead. Why? Because of the atmosphere. EMU has a small campus. I can walk the whole campus in about 20 minutes. I see people I know walking around all the time. You never feel like a number. Yet, we aren't a small school…we are only a small campus.Yes, there are commuters, but those who choose to stay on campus or live close to campus have a great sense of community. The teachers are great, they really get to know you. The lack of very many lecture hall classes makes this possible. Some classes are easy, but they are general education classes. Plus, if you really want to go somewhere bigger with tons of stuff to do, Ann Arbor is only 10 minutes by car.

One reason I chose this place was because of the organizations and things that can be done here. It may seem like you'd be bored here every weekend. You won't be. There are frats and sororities. The student center has a free movie every Friday and if its a popular movie, you won't be the only one going to it, lots of people go. There's Skylounge (a jazz swing lounge) once a month. There's stand up comedy once a month too. Nearby there's the Necto dance club that everyone goes to. Depot Town in cool too, as is Sidetracks (really good food and bar). Ypsi may be small, but its a good thing. It's not very safe to walk around alone there, especially at night, but seriously, who would do that anywhere? Just be street smart.

Plus, there's a wicked awesome Forensics team here that is one of the best, it is possibly the sweetest thing since sliced bread, but then again I may be bias :)
