Worst college I could ever imagine. When I went to visit Jacksonville, it looked amazing! Do not let the beautiful oak trees fool you. This school is a complete waste of money, time, and your college experience. The surrounding city is awful, unsafe, dirty, and unwelcoming. During my first semester on campus, a meth lab blew up two blocks from the school. I did not ever feel safe on campus- especially at night. I felt as if I couldn't walk across campus without being accosted. It was very uncomfortable. The school is a glorified high school- honestly. All the people who go to this school are arrogant and immature. If you do not wish on joining a fraternity or sorority, I advise you to stay away from this school entirely. You will not find many friends if you don't "buy" them. Half of the freshman class transferred after my first semester, including myself, because it was so lame. Even the people looking for parties were bored- there are none. Night life in Jacksonville does not exist unless you intend on going to the club and getting picked up by a sex offender. Jacksonville Landing is trashy and full of sketch balls, and downtown is a JOKE. Also, the food is incredibly disgusting. Every time I ate there i got sick, and i even got served raw chicken. The people who work at JU are evil and do not do anything for you. All they want is your money, and they will do anything to get it, including keeping money that is rightfully yours (like security deposits, ect.). The school is slow and it takes them forever to do anything. The teachers were nice, but I was not challenged and felt as if I was babied. It seemed easier than high school, and at 34,000, it was basically a waste of an education. Also, it rains everyday and the "valley" often floods, leaving you to tread trough dirty sewer water up to your thighs just to make it back to your dorm after class. I would avoid this school at all costs…i honestly can't find a good thing to say about it besides the professors being nice.
