CFCC is an excellent launching pad into a 4-yr school, especially if you stay in-state. Sure, most of the students are wanna-be UNCW students who didn't get in but that's ok, they're at CFCC trying to bring up their grades to transfer over. I picked up my AA from CFCC and used it to transfer to the Univ. of Hawaii and then on to Florida State for grad school. If you cut a 3.0 or higher at CFCC state law says you have to be given priority to UNC system schools. I left NC having grown up in Wilmington but it would have been a great deal if I had stayed in-state. Plus, there's tons of bars within a block of campus. Professors will sometimes hold Q&A sessions at the bars after class…particularly the night classes. It was great.
