Fordham is significantly less academic than it claims to be. It's core classes are poorly designed introduction classes which spark little interest and provide plenty of busywork. Food is sub-par and often not available (no food on weekends until 11 o'clock). Most kids are from NJ. Many of my classes suffer from a painful lack of scholastic discussion and a sorrowful inability of students to write or speak effectively. Fordham's library has embarrassing hours (closing at 7 on fridays, opening as late as 8:30 on weekdays). All in all, the school is a let-down, and extraordinarily pompous school considering its average educational quality. I have learned more from my jobs on Arthur Avenue and from reading on my own than from any class at the school.
