LOL! What was your major? You just sound like an angry person! |
Ignore this person. It sounds like they are bitter. Of course 80% of Akron commutes! It has over 27,000 kids attending. That would be a lot of on campus housing! There's still thousands of kids on campus and A LOT more than at schools like Mount Union! |
I'm not bitter - I'm just giving my opinion. Akron is a commuter school, so compared to other Ohio schools (i.e. Ohio State, Kent, etc), the on-campus life isn't spectacular. 3000 kids living on campus is not a lot, especially when they're spread out over North/South quad. |
You know, U of Akron's tuition would be a lot lower if they didn't pay shills to respond on this board. The OP gave an honest review of the school, one that I've heard many time before. Instead of trying to shade the reality of attending U of A, why don't they fire the shills, plants and 3/4 of the admins and put the money into lowering tuition… |
Major: Social Work (This Major's Salary over time)
Do NOT choose UA - it's horrible. 86% of students commute, so if you're planning to live on campus, you better be able to keep yourself occupied as NO ONE is around on weekends. Literally, you can walk the campus from end to end on a Saturday and not see a single other person. The campus is by far the most boring place I've ever been and the city of Akron itself isn't much help - the city is dying… it has been since the rubber factories left decades ago. ALSO - if you do live on campus: BRING A CAR. There is NOTHING within walking distance such as a Giant Eagle or Target or even small drug store. I didn't have a car my freshman year and had absolutely no way of obtaining groceries, toiletries, etc. - it was ridiculous. Akron may be cheap (for in-state students) but don't expect an amazing college experience. Look elsewhere.
