There are many things I like about Case. The faculty are friendly, and people are usually nice. I also enjoy the size, as the campus feels connected and that it is easy to meet new people. However, in terms of things I dislike, there is a long list:Obviously, Case is known for its sciences and engineering programs, with a little bit of business, but I am a humanities major. I came to Case primarily for scholarship reasons and to meet people in a new environment (I'm originally from the East coast). However, I could not have been more disappointed. If you are a humanities major, people treat you like crap. You could be having a fine conversation but once you mention your major, people will raise their eyebrows and you can tell they now look down on you, despite the fact your GPA is likely 3X theirs. Socially, the atmosphere is not good. It is okay freshman year, when everyone is new to the school and eager to make friends. But once 2nd semester begins, everything changes. People form cliques and no longer have interest in being as outgoing as before. There are on-campus events at times, such as those hosted by student government, frats, or even concerts, but people do not attend them. I'm not sure why. It's just not a social campus. It's even harder on a humanities major, as you will not know people through Engineering/Physics/Organic Chemistry/etc. There are times when I feel incredibly lonely due to the lack of social friendliness.Do not come here if you are a humanities major. You will not fit in. Unless you are Korean. They have a very close community here. I am hoping to transfer somewhere next year.
