First off, DO NOT go to this school, even if you get a full scholarship. Especially don't go if you are paying your way through school like I am. I will explain why below:

Food: They may have just "remodeled" the cafeteria, but guess what? The food is just as terrible as before. The salad br sometimes has rotten fruits and vegetables, and if you get eggs, expect them to be more like soup. And if you go other places on campus, they will frequently mess up your order and waste 20 minutes of your time when you are trying to get to class. Even the cheapest meal plan has you paying $100/week on food, which is way too much when you only get 12 meals per week. You can only use them at specific times, and you can't use more than one meal per mealtime on most of the plans.

Social life: if you don't go clubbing, or to the 1 party on campus that gets busted by "campus security" or the RA's, there is nothing to do. I have walked around on campus on a saturday afternoon before and have not run into 1 person, the campus is deserted on the weekends especially because of a lot of commuters. You basically are stuck in your dorm room for the whole weekend, and it gets a little depressing after a while.

Res Halls: I lived in Botts, which is in terrible condition. The paint on the handrails of the stairs always wears off on my hands. The trash really piles up on the weekends and most people in your hall won't talk to you, they have their group of 4 or so friends and that's all they need. Hot water is not available all the time, and a few nights have been spent without electricity, and another 2 without ANY water at all. The dryers you have to pay for 2 cycles and then sometimes even after that your clothes aren't dry, total waste of money. And the elevators in Oak are constantly broken. Overall, the "room and board" plan is more of a "give us all your money" plan.

Classes: From what I've seen so far, most of the students in my classes don't want to be there. They sleep, text, and do other things in class instead of paying attention. Most of the classes move slower than the ones I took in high school, and even then people complain that the professor is going too fast for them. Rarely, there are nice professors who actually want you to do good, but most are very close minded in their beliefs and if you disagree verbally, you will get a bad grade for no excuse at all. The Advising Center sucks, I switched my major before I got here and they did not tell me what classes I needed so that I wouldn't be behind.

Other: The Valley always floods, sometimes with about half a foot of water or more. And the "maintenance" people do not rake up the leaves, and most of them end up in the Valley for you to trip over. Over the winter, there was ice in the Valley and I slipped… luckily i didn't break anything. Most of the students who go here are really close-minded and don't want to make any more than the 4 friends they have, kind of like high school. The weight room is really small and almost all the elliptical machines are broken, all the time. I was actually afraid of walking in the dark on campus for a while, and I had my wallet stolen, and even though I reported it to Campus Security, they did nothing to help me.

Basically, this school just wants your money. They do not care about you or your problems at all. And if you want more than a few friends, you have to pay for them, aka join a fraternity or sorority. There are no good looking guys here at all. They accept anyone who will pay them, no matter what their grades or test scores. Nothing is really that great about this school, and I am transferring so that maybe I can make some college memories I actually want to remember and tell my children about.
