As a non-traditional transfer student, making my schedule was a nightmare. Some classes are only offered once every two years (because it's such a small school). In general don't expect much help or guidance. Professors are selected based on expertise in their field, not for teaching skill. I've had just one exceptional instructor. If an intellectual environment is desired, Paul Smith's College is not a good choice. Independent thought is pretty optional. Students are very friendly and making friends is easy. Campus is beautiful, but very rural. It might be difficult to live on campus without a car.
