The school as a whole has a wonderful reputation, but it is not all it's cracked up to be. If you're pre-med, the program is amazing, but don't count on your rising tuition, a minimum $43,000 a year to get you a seat in a medical school. I have friends with high gpas (3.5+) that are not ending up where they had planned.

I joined Greek Life seeing as it is a residential campus and half the school goes Greek. It's alright. You're filled with the sterotypes which end up proving to be mostly accurate.

Campus security is reasonable with students, and the police really don't bother you except for major issues.

Having the projects near by and "townies" and unsafe individuals break into the buildings, not the best.

It's a good school, but NOT work the 43,000 a year. I find myself taking pointless classes when I can't do basic functions, like Excel spreadsheets that I will need in the work force. You leave here with more knowledge than most schools would give you in your field, but as for basic work knowledge, go to Cal U or a community college and take some basics.
