Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
This university is terrible. There is no social life what so ever. I never planned on going home every weekend but i do. I would rather hit a bee hive with a baseball bat than stay here for a weekend. I live in Moore Hall (a high rise dorm) and i would honestly prefer to live in a jail cell. A prison cell is probably bigger than by 10X15 dorm anyway. There are supposed to be "quite hours" however these hours involve running through the halls screaming at the top of your lungs and blaring music with a subwoofer until 5 in the morning while im trying to sleep. The bathrooms are pathetic. There is one working shower with no hot water, there is no toilet paper in the stalls, and there are no paper towels at the sinks. You will find more mold and mildew in this facility than you would in a freaking rain forest. Their fix to the mold is to add another layer of paint over the walls. There is absolutely no parking at UNCC. The campus is incredibly spread out so plan on walking between 0.5 and 1 miles to go anywhere. Also, prepare yourself to wait in line for anything. The food here is utterly terrible. It is always cold and usually stale. Classes are ridiculous. What is the purpose of taking "The History of Sex," or "The importance of Nature" as a REQUIRED class for a nursing major?! This is the type of liberal red tape that you will experience at UNCC. Also, the advising staff is a joke. They do not give a damn about you or your success as a student. If you dont get the classes that you need then that is considered your problem. And the chemistry department is literally the spawn of satan himself. The course is designed to fail as many people as it can in order to weed out as many people as possible due to the significant amount of over crowding at this university. Before you are allowed to be admitted as a freshman you are first required to endure a summer orientation known as SOAR. This is possibly the worst experience, other than moving into Moore Hall, that I have ever been through. It is a two day taste of hell. The administration at UNCC does not do its job and the campus police are a bunch or rent-a-cops. Overall i would not recommend this college to my worst enemy. DO NOT COME TO UNCC CHARLOTTE. And if you are an unfortunate soul already attending UNCC then i will pray for you every day and i hope that you can do whatever you can to get yourself out of that terrible situation.
